International Kampoeng Jazz was first made in 2008 by the Student Executive Board of Law Faculty of Padjadjaran University.
Kampoeng Jazz was established because of concern for the accomplishments in the arts, especially music in Padjadjaran University. Also, lack of appreciation in art does not get a place in campus policy makers. In addition, there is no artistic event to spearhead the development of the campus beside the academic subject.
Kahitna
Kahitna, Bandung’s based music group, was formed on June 24th, 1986, founded by Yovie Widianto (pianist). Even though love has been the main theme for Kahitna’s music, they are known for jazz, pop, fusion, latin, and ethnic genre. This music group that started their carrier through music festivals and café gigs, are recognized for their original music arrangement.
Mocca
MOCCA is an Indonesian four-member band formed in 1999 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The band’s musical style is inspired by the retro sounds of the 70s, with influences of swing, bossa nova, Swedish pop, and jazz.
The core of the band is Arina Ephipania, Riko Prayitno, Toma Pratama, andIndra Massad. When playing live, MOCCA is supported by additional players on keyboards, trumpet, and trombone.
The band went on hiatus in 2011. They have now returned in early 2015 with a new album called ‘Home’. It is an album about their journey and longing for home.
Blotymama
Blotymama is a group of 4 guys who found each other in music. They dedicate their whole life for music.
Blotymama plays RnB with their own style. A lil touch of funk and rock makes their music sound rather spontaneous, and has that particular taste of “street” music.
Hence, we define our music genre as Jam-Band, Rio on the drums, AdeAvery on guitar, RendiKopay on bass guitar, and Teddy Adhitya on vocal. Each of these guys have different backgrounds and style of music and that is what makes this band unique.
Endah n Rhesa
Endah Widiastuti was a solo singer who then joined a rock band. In that band, she met Rhesa Adityarama. In 2004, Endah and Rhesa decided to quit the band. Endah decided to go back to solo career releasing a mini album with the title “The New Beginning” with Rhesa as the producer. In 2005, Endah and Rhesa released the album “Nowhere To Go” by them self with a very simple audio quality and album design that they worked on together. This projected had an acoustic theme. This album strengthen the formation of Endah N Rhesa, not as Endah’s solo project anymore.
Adhitia Sofyan
Adhitia Sofyan born in Bandung, November 6th, 1977, is an Indonesia born singer and musician who is known as an independent artist, because he recorded all of his songs in his own room. His most known songs are Memilihmu and Adelaide Sky which is used as Kambing Jantan: The Movie soundtrack. Here are Adhitia Sofyan’s achievement:
